FAQs

General Information

  • Everything! We are a private indoor dog park, which allows us to prioritize the safety and comfort of every pup and person who enters that can be used throughout the year, in all seasons. Upon applying for a membership, we ensure all the applicants are up to date on their health records and pass a temperament test. Additionally, we keep our facilities clean and sanitized, unlike many public parks. We also want to ensure our humans have an amazing time too, so we have a bar, cafe, lounge areas, concierge services, and monthly events.

  • Hound House Toronto is located at 501 Queen Street West, Unit 100, Toronto, Ontario, M5V 2B4.

  • Yes! We provide free password-protected wifi inside the House. Whether you want to get some work done, stay connected with friends and family, or post on social media (always encouraged!), we support your online needs! Just ask the concierge or attendants for the password when you arrive.

  • Unfortunately, Hound House Toronto does not offer parking services. Municipal and other private parking options can be viewed here. We are also accessible via TTC transportation.

  • We are currently a 16+ venue to ensure the safety of our pups and people.

Dog Requirements & Eligibility

  • Absolutely not! Hound House Toronto is inclusive to every breed. All well-socialized, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed dogs over 4 months of age are welcome at Hound House Toronto.

  • Yes - for the safety of our dog members, all dogs 8 months (females) and 12 months (males) and older must be spayed or neutered. Dogs who are not "fixed" will likely not do well in a setting with many dogs in a confined space. This is because they smell very different than those dogs who are neutered or spayed and will become the center of attention in a pack setting. Those dogs may feel picked on or receive far too much attention for their comfort level and this can result in an unsafe situation, like a dog fight.

  • Unfortunately, no they can’t. Intact males and unspayed females smell different. Other dogs will often single them out and treat them poorly by picking on them or not allowing them to interact with the group. Also, accidents can and do happen and we can't make any exceptions to our policy.

  • Unfortunately, no. Particularly with males, neutering alternatives such as sterilizations (Zeuterin) and vasectomies don't stop the production of testosterone which is the main driver behind issues with intact males in the House.

Dog Supervision & Access

  • Our trained Dog Attendants closely monitor all play and interactions in the park to ensure a safe, positive environment for every pup. Our team is always present to observe behaviour, step in when needed, and support safe play.

Members are still responsible for their dogs at all times and are asked to step in for excessive behaviour unless they’ve booked a supervised daycare service.

  • Yes! Please reach out to the concierge to have your dog walker’s information added to your account and membership profile.

  • Since we believe all dogs are created equal, we have learned that when attention and care are provided in the House, dividing the play area is not necessary. Our dog attendants are trained to ensure harmony amongst our customers in all shapes and sizes and can discern when they need to intervene.

  • The memberships at Hound House Toronto are for zero, one, two, or three dogs. If you have more than three dogs per household, please contact us! This can be approved on a case-by-case basis. Daily drop-ins are permitted to bring up to three dogs. If you have more than three dogs, please contact us as we may approve on a case-by-case basis.

Membership & Access

  • Our monthly membership for one dog is $170 per month before tax. Two additional dogs may be added per household at a discounted rate ($40 increase per extra dog). Our Puppy Pal memberships (no dogs) are offered at $130 per month. We also offer Daily Drop-in passes starting at $30 per day and increase by $10 for each additional dog. Please refer to our membership page for additional information.

  • Anyone interested in joining Hound House Toronto must first fill out an application form that will include some information about your pup(s), vaccinations, and medical history. After all the necessary information is provided, you will be invited with your pup(s) to come to the House for a behavioural assessment and a tour of the facilities. This is a perfect opportunity for our trained attendants to assess your dog(s) temperament and for you to see if Hound House Toronto is a fit for you and your dog’s needs. Please visit our Apply page to fill out your application!

  • Yes! We offer Daily Drop-in passes that anyone can purchase online if you aren’t ready to fully commit to a membership.

Please note: Drop-in pass customers bringing a dog must first submit an application and complete a free temperament assessment visit prior to booking a drop-in pass.

  • To ensure the safety and comfort of all dogs in our space, we don’t allow walk-ins. We require all pet records to be submitted and approved in advance before visiting Hound House.

If you’re interested in checking us out, please apply prior to visiting.

  • Membership pauses can only be applied in full-month increments and must align with your billing cycle. Unfortunately, partial-month pauses (e.g. mid-month to mid-month) are not supported by our system. If you need to pause your membership, please contact us before your next billing date so we can ensure it takes effect for the upcoming month.

  • All memberships are set to auto-renew and are non-refundable once charged. Because we reserve space and resources for each member in advance, we’re unable to offer refunds for unused time. If you need to make changes to your membership, including cancellations or pauses, please notify us prior to your next billing date to avoid renewal.

Guests & Non-Dog Owners

  • Absolutely! Hound House Toronto is a place for dogs and dog lovers! We have a Puppy Pal membership for people who love dogs, but aren’t able to have their own now. This membership will be offered at a reduced cost.

  • No application is required for the Puppy Pal membership, which is designed for individuals without a dog. Since a temperament assessment is not necessary, you can purchase this membership—or a drop-in pass—directly through our Members Portal.

  • Yes, you can! Every member is allowed to bring two guests with them at any given time in the House. They just need to sign the waiver when they check in with our concierge. The account holder will also need to be present when checking in and at all times.

  • Unfortunately, children under 16 years old are not permitted in the House due to safety and regulations in order to protect the energy of the dogs in the house.

Amenities & Services

  • Whether you need to go to work or need a few hours to run errands, Hound House Toronto offers doggy daycare services that you can book through our members’ portal or the concierge. Your pup will have a special collar to indicate they are signed up for doggy daycare that day and ensure extra attention is given to them while you are away. We also offer Errand Hour for members, which allows you to leave your pup with us for up to 1 hour once per day.

However, when you do not have a doggy daycare visit or errand hour booked, you must be inside the House with your dog at all times. Our trained Cha-paw-rones can help you while you are present, but leaving your dog alone on the premises may lead to a revocation of membership.

  • Absolutely! Whether you need to catch up on emails, finish a report, or wrap up your work day, Hound House Toronto is a place where you can work, socialize, and play together. While conference calls are permitted, we just ask that you keep them brief and use headphones, so that all members can enjoy the House together, peacefully. We also have a soundproof phone booth available for use, however, please be mindful of your length of use. The phone booth is bookable for members through our portal and on a first come, first serve basis for drop-ins and guests.

Most importantly though, we want to ensure that Hound House Toronto is a safe environment for our dogs and humans. To ensure this, we ask that even while working, you are always aware and attentive when needed to your dog(s).

  • We do not have grooming or boarding services, just yet! We do have a self-serve spa that is fully equipped with grooming products and supplies for your use while at the House.

  • Yes! We allow bookings and rental of the space. Please email info@houndhouseto.com to inquire.

House Rules

  • Outside food, drinks, glass containers, and dog treats are not permitted in order to ensure the safety of the dogs (unless provided under daycare services). However, we do offer food, drinks, and treats at the cafe and bar for both people and pups free of allergens! We also provide free filtered water to all guests (pups and people), so we encourage you to bring your own empty water bottle to fill once inside the House!

  • Smoking and vaping are prohibited on the premises at all times as it is proven to be a health risk for dogs.

  • Outside toys are not permitted in the House. This rule is in place purely for safety reasons minimizing 'Possession Aggression'.
